East Lyn House

“A very comfortable B&B with a most friendly welcome.”

Lorna and Steve are excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful. East Lyn House is a characterful Victorian house, with a lovely comfortable lounge available to guests and a terrace with sea view (though the weather during our stay was not conducive to its use!). Breakfast was excellent and the system of ordering what you wanted the night before worked well. The house is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Lynmouth and the sea. It was good to have covered parking available, though reversing down the quite steep slope to it was slightly nerve-wracking (but the physical location makes this impossible to change)

Breakfast was good, with plenty of options, and the breakfast room looked lovely. The stairs leading to the bedroom might be a challenge for someone not used to walking up steps.

“You would struggle to find a better location and even more difficult to find such amazing hosts!”

The hosts were absolutely top drawer, greeting us warmly and handling check‑out smoothly, not forgetting the lovely Caleb. Breakfasts were wonderful, especially the full English. The location is hard to beat for the whole area, and parking is available. The attic room felt a bit tight, but we’re tall (ish) people. A minor point: the dining room could have had some background radio or music for breakfast.

The village is great for a couple of days or even a week. It’s a good location spot. Being a small village, dining options are limited, so you have to drive out for more choices.
