Hotel Mahabs is situated in the Mahabalipuram Beach district of Mahabalipuram, 1.1 km from the city center. This hotel offers free private parking and convenient access to nearby attractions. Spacious rooms feature a seating area, private bathroom with shower, and flat-screen TV. The Shore Temple is a 10-minute walk, while the Panch rathas and Mahapalipuram lighthouse museum are within a 15- and 5-minute walk, respectively.

The place was clean, but room service fell short: they repeatedly failed to supply basic bathroom items even after we pointed it out, the food took too long to arrive, and the deluxe room felt no different from a standard one.

The staff seemed more focused on making money than on offering any service. Even though I booked a deluxe room, they pushed me to pick and collect a small ordinary room so they could sell the deluxe one to someone else. The Wi‑Fi signal was weak and completely unavailable in the room I stayed in. I had paid for breakfast, but the management refused to give it to us; after arguing, they finally offered a limited breakfast to the room. Overall, the worst experience.

I was happy to be so close to the UNESCO sites, and the shady garden kept the rooms cool; the food and service were solid. However, the room had a stale, dank smell, and even after we upgraded for an extra 700, it still felt a bit off.
