The location is great and the staff are very kind. The luggage delivery service is outstanding and the Japanese-style breakfast is above average, though the Western breakfast options are lacking. The rooms are too small for a couple with two suitcases, and the breakfast could use improvement—there was no orange juice, the coffee machine took 90 seconds to brew (causing a line), and the toaster also had delays.

“Skip this hotel”

Honestly, I don’t understand how this hotel has such good reviews. But regardless of the infrastructure, the staff was very welcoming and nice. The bedroom wasn’t in a good place, the walls were very dirty and it didn’t feel cozy at all. The bedroom had a very very bad smell, that not even with the ventilation and the window open could get better. The breakfast was terrible and lacking too much. Even to take a coffee you need to wait 1 minute for the machine to warm up, so expect queues and terrible coffee. Regarding the location, good if you want to take transports. It is very far away of everything to walk and around you don’t have anything to do

I loved this place! The location was super convenient, right in the middle of everything, and getting to and from Kyoto Station was quick and easy. The staff were fantastic and even helped me recover my lost room key. They spoke English well, and overall I found the place great :)
