The place is in a great spot. The bathroom needs a facelift—think toilet lid, a few broken tiles. It’s a hostel, not a hotel, but a bit more care wouldn’t hurt. One night is fine for the location, but a longer stay isn’t.

Hostal Santa Barbara sits beside Alonso Martínez Metro Station, on the edge of Madrid’s vibrant Chueca district. The 24‑hour reception welcomes guests to rooms with tiled floors, colorful décor, flat‑screen TVs, free Wi‑Fi, private bathrooms, and optional air conditioning. A vending machine, nearby eateries, and walking access to Gran Vía, the Wax Museum, and other attractions enhance its appeal.

The property was clean and the reception staff were efficient and professional.

The front desk lady was very friendly and the bathroom was clean. Unfortunately the Wi‑Fi didn’t work, the sheets were synthetic and stained, the window wouldn’t close so street noise leaked in, and there was no soundproofing between rooms. The room was too pricey for its condition.

The location was good.

La ubicación y la limpieza genial. El colchón está muy mal, totalmente hundido, sin aire acondicionado y mucho ruido en el pasillo, con gente llamando al timbre de madrugada
