“Good location, poor stay”

We’ve stayed here several times, and this visit fell short. The room 205 was very low‑quality; the bathroom was old and tired, the shower was peeling from the wall with rust and dirt. The road outside the hotel was being resurfaced—nothing was mentioned in the post‑booking email. Because our room faced the street, we couldn’t sleep on the first night. The hotel didn’t move us to another room, even though it wasn’t full. We normally stay for the location, but the negatives outweighed the positives this time, so we won’t return.

The women in the kitchen and the daytime reception staff were really friendly, but the mustached evening receptionist was rude and made my friend and me wait an hour in the room to retrieve some forgotten items, pretending to charge us for two people for a whole night just for that hour.

The room was comfy with a fantastic view of the Izmir castle, and the location, while not fully central, is just a short walk from the city centre with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The only downside was a possible ventilation issue – the bathroom smelled moldy the day after a shower.

“Great room”

The room matched the photos perfectly: beautiful, comfortable, with a good shower, AC, and a generous breakfast. The rooms are far better than the hotel’s exterior would suggest, though the window doesn’t close.

The hotel turned out better than expected: spacious rooms, clean, great view, very welcoming and responsive staff, and the location – a quiet fishing spot and the metro just two steps away – was perfect. The price was reasonable for all that. The hotel isn’t new but it’s clean, convenient, has a lift, a fridge in the room, and a good, plentiful breakfast included. The only thing I missed was a kettle and tea in the room, which weren’t there.
