“Good place to stop near the A1”

Good location, parking available and accommodation is quiet as rooms are in a building separate to the main pub. Bar food was good quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast did not happen. Was told on arrival because we had booked through booking .com there was an extra charge which was ok. Agreed a time but when we arrived the doors were not open. Staff member on breakfast was running late, at least one other set of guests left as well. Room was a little cold and no way of bringing heating on

The place is clean, comfortable, and the staff are friendly; everything is great except the pillows, which are so bad they make me think twice about returning. They’re very thick foam ones – I’d recommend this place if they just had slightly thinner pillows!

“Definitely worth a stay here.”

The property sits beside a picturesque green in the village, looking stunning from the outside and full of character. Parking is available, which is great. I stayed in the loft room next to the main restaurant/bar building; it was a lovely ensuite, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. I didn’t dine in the evening but had breakfast twice, and the food was also excellent. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It’s conveniently close to the A167/A1 and would be a great base for holiday makers. I didn’t find anything I didn’t like.

“Possibly the friendliest place I have ever stayed!”

What a beautiful location and a gorgeous place to stay. Every staff member I met went above and beyond, and I was honestly incredibly impressed by their friendliness and professionalism. I wish the county all the success.
