The place is excellent for getting to the nearby beach and for a direct train into Melbourne. They kindly put complimentary soft drinks and water in the room fridge and gave a voucher for a drink in the bar. The shared areas could use a refresh, and because there’s no lift you have to haul your bags up the stairs.

Everything was very clean, close to everything we needed, and the bistro staff were great. The hotel parking was full the second night, but there were plenty of parking spots very close by.

The beds were comfy, the location was great, I liked the drink and meal discounts at the pub below, and check‑in was easy and quick.

The location was good, and we received two drink vouchers and a discount on meals at the adjacent restaurant. The bed and pillows were comfortable. A leak in the hallway ceiling near our room—peeling paint was already visible when we arrived—started dripping overnight, soaking the carpet and leaving a damp, smelly odor. With the windows locked, the moisture couldn’t escape even though the air‑con was running all night. The staff came and restocked the fridge while we were out, but it would have helped if they had tried to dry the carpet or opened a window to ventilate the room. The hand and body wash were empty when we arrived.

We were lucky to have a water view from our room, the beds were comfortable, and it was close to shops and the pub downstairs, but the accommodation above the pub was very old‑style and you had to climb two flights of stairs to reach your room—no lift.
