The Folly Hotel

“Cheap and convenient for a short stay. Adequate accommodation.”

The location was great—literally right across the street from North Berwick golf club and a very short walk to the town centre, and it was very inexpensive. The bathroom was tiny, the interior and fixtures were aged, and there was no staff present at all.

“Comfortable traditional hotel”

The location was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, but finding parking was a little tricky.

“It was everything we needed for a short stay, in a perfect central location.”

The spot was spot on and the room stayed spotless, with a thoughtful snack and breakfast spread that included fresh milk for tea in a mini fridge. The bathroom ceiling sloped and offered no natural light, and there was a bit of corridor noise from other rooms coming and going, but that didn’t bother us much since we were already out for an evening event.

The breakfast basket was a delight, full of goodies, and the bed was supremely comfortable. I didn’t find anything else that bothered me, though the room felt a bit cramped and the stairs were quite steep for someone with mobility issues.

“The Folly hotel is ideal for an overnight stay in a delightful small town”

The Folly hotel sits close to the High Street and the beech, and my room was both comfortable and quiet. Even though the hotel didn’t serve meals, the room offered a good range of breakfast items—porridge, yogurt, croissants, muffins, tea, and coffee—which was a very thoughtful touch. The reception area was easy to navigate and secure.
