The carriage was very beautiful, with an amazing private front yard. The welcome basket was absolutely amazing and made us feel at home. Despite many accommodation options nearby, the stay was very peaceful, and the only view from the carriage was the station, no other buildings. The fireplace, bed corner with hot water bottles, and the outdoor fireplace made the place cozy and enjoyable even in cold weather. However, there were a few small oversights: no salt or sugar in the kitchen, though tea/coffee was provided and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking; nothing was provided for cleaning the kitchen. The place also needed a deeper clean because there was a lot of dust and spider webs near the ceiling. While we enjoyed the bathtub in the private yard, the hot water ran out quickly, which was disappointing because it’s not fun to sit outside in cold water in Scotland.
