After visiting Shell Bay, we stayed at this La Cueva hotel; the front‑desk staff were enthusiastic and explained everything, and you could book breakfast for €10 per person. The room had a view of the Atlantic and parking was free. The room’s facilities were a bit basic – there was no luggage rack, so we had to put our suitcase on the floor.

The staff were lovely. Even though we’re up on Mount Igeldo, there’s a bus stop right at the door that drops you into town in 10 minutes. Breakfast was fairly complete. The pillows were very low and uncomfortable.

The stay was excellent. The welcome was very warm, with plenty of explanations to help us enjoy the city tour. Breakfast was superb. We highly recommend it. The view of the sea was exceptional, and it was easy to store our electric bikes.

The view from the dining room and the surroundings were great. The staff were super friendly! The pillow was uncomfortable, but they gave us two more to stack on top of the ones we had, which made a big difference.
