Buccaneer Quarters and Suites sits on a private beach at Mile Marker 53.5 in Key Colony Beach, near Marathon. Guests enjoy an outdoor pool, flat‑screen satellite TV, and en‑suite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. The marina is a two‑minute walk away, while snorkeling, scuba diving and charter‑fishing are reachable within five minutes. Golf lies an eleven‑minute stroll away.

What I liked most was that the beach and pool were right next to my room.

It was nice to be right on the ocean, but there was no staff after 10 o’clock. You’re on your own; people were in the pool late at night even though the pool is only open from 8 am to 8 pm. They left their cleaning supplies and cart upstairs all day and night, and you can hear the neighbors through the walls.

The room beside the beach is beautiful; we’re making this our go‑to hotel when we visit the Florida Keys and have already booked another stay. The downside was late‑night partying in the Tiki by the beach and the ice machine not working.
