We often stay here for short breaks, and we love the extraordinary location on the high road and the hotel itself. The spa area is nice, the food is good, and the staff are friendly. On this visit we had to wait 2.5 hours for one of our two rooms to be ready for check‑in, though we were given a cocktail voucher as a small compensation. The hotel was fully booked, which probably meant not enough staff, and the mattress in one bed was totally saggy.

The balcony view and location are simply sensational, and the wellness area is nice. Overall, the value for money is good. The hotel feels a bit dated, and the service could improve, especially at breakfast where staff were severely lacking. The buffet was hardly restocked and the tables weren’t cleared. Allergy labels were hard to find, and dinner offered few options for people with food intolerances.

Breakfast was okay, but the room we had booked wasn’t available (a pity). We had booked a room with two double beds, but received a room with one double bed and one bunk bed for a child, and we were also given an extra single room.
