The spot is fantastic, letting you enjoy the Pieniny on both the Slovak and Polish sides. Breakfast fell short of my expectations—no cheeses, jams, or raw eggs. Staying inside the monastery walls, surrounded by nature, in complete silence with a star‑filled sky free from light pollution, was unforgettable, and the monastery still offered full comfort. The lighting on the staircase to the upper‑floor rooms is too dim for older guests. Those who avoid meat or fried dishes have almost nothing to choose from at breakfast, which was a big surprise for me.

The location right at the foot of Trzech Koron is great, the museum dedicated to the monastery’s history is beautiful, and the reception ladies are super friendly. Breakfast was okay but not exciting. The lighting in the family apartment was too dark. Some breakfast options were very sparse, like only mustard and horseradish for the cooked sausage, plus bread with butter—no vegetables or yellow cheese. During our stay there was also no black tea for breakfast, which is a problem for those who don’t like herbal or fruit blends, especially at breakfast.

The environment and nice staff were positives. The shower area needs at least a partial renovation. Mold appears in the walls and cracks are sometimes peeling. The wall‑mounted soap dispenser is unstable, moving side to side. The bath towels were worn out. The bathroom fan was replaced in a way that shows where the old fan was, with holes and unpainted spots. The wall behind the kitchen counter is in bad shape, sprayed and patched with paint only. To use the microwave you must unplug the fridge. Prices went up, but the quality of the equipment and furnishings fell. We’ve stayed in the family apartment about ten times, and from our long experience we see that the accommodation quality deteriorates over time.
