The recently renovated rooms were cozy, with fresh bedding and handy toiletries—shampoo, conditioner, body wash—plus a functional TV and fridge. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. The spot is easy to locate, close to food and gas just off the highway, and the price was reasonable. However, because the hotel is still being upgraded, breakfast was limited to apples, muffins, granola bars, and coffee served in an unfinished room, and the check‑in area was moved to the front center of the building instead of the usual reception. Parking space was also scarce.

It was a place to sleep, but I wasn’t told the property was under construction. The lighting in the room was poor, the TV was hard to use, and the phone didn’t work. There was no lobby—just a single room. Work outside tracked sand into our room, which was a terrible experience; if I’d found a room on the first night of check‑in, I would have left immediately. Windom needs to improve significantly.

I love the place every time I visit. The staff are courteous, the rooms are clean and well designed, and the price is decent. The breakfast is minimal due to renovations, but that’s not a big deal; everyone does their best to satisfy guests.
