“In 29 years of my service industry staying all types of properties d most horrendeous hurtful stay”
The hotel advertised itself as a three‑star, but the staff insisted it was a budget property with no fridge, no amenities, no kettle, no tea, no sashes, and handwash water only. The toilet seat was broken and the mattress was already torn and burnt. When I asked for an iron, they claimed it was broken and there was no ironing board to press my white clothes. These are basic expectations for a budget hotel. Breakfast was terrible: on the 9th, the only toast was stale and mouldy; the rest of the pack was fine, but food safety was compromised and I ended up with an upset stomach when I got home. The owner was miserly and over‑controlling, trying to cut costs for guests. I had called from Goa beforehand and was told by Vikas that they would provide everything, even a dental kit that was expired. I never chose the Royal Rituals for two nights because of this. The hotel was a two‑minute walk from my venue. The best part was my taxi driver, Omprakashji, who was very humble and helpful; I booked him for all three days from airport arrival. After a five‑minute conversation, he directed me to Royal Rituals from the airport. Street food like momos was fine, and I bought khaman on 7 Oct and jamnadas ghari and snacks on the way to the airport on 9 Oct 26. Everything from start to finish—entrance, ambience, staff behaviour—was helpless. Kalpeah on night shift was a hooligan, trying to pass a mattress coat over my head at 11 pm. I was in and out of the hotel three times during daylight. No one mentioned anything at 3 pm when I returned after leaving at 10 am on 8 Oct 26. They promised a late checkout but I had to leave at night because I had to call the police over threats from Kalpesh at the front lobby. The female owner also came and had the audacity to say, “don’t come back to our hotel.” I’m not going to let my mentors stay there and will tell everyone about the ill‑treatment. They claimed a three‑star hotel but the staff said budget friendly. My experience was miserly, poorly managed, with broken, dull, shabby conditions that didn’t match the photos on Google. The rooms were overrated; after the experience I don’t want to stay for free either. I booked to save time from evening traffic and was going to be trapped by this silly decision. Being from the service industry, I’m aware of all aspects but they tried to pass on costs to me at 11 pm; they were unruly. You will have to pay. Kalpesh said, “like a goonda, you burnt the mattress.” The broken iron was hot and left a black mark because the base was burnt or stuck. I asked him if it would burn my clothes and leave a black mark; he said no. I had no choice because I wanted to iron my clothes. I don’t understand how, without a burnt bedsheet and a hole, the mattress got burnt. It was already in shabby condition. So now I’m clicking pictures and checking the entire room before checking in to avoid such cheap tactics. I have a video, but it can’t be uploaded—only photos on Google I have uploaded.
