“Great place to stay. Don’t bother eating there”

The location was great and having a parking lot was handy. The hotel itself was ordinary, but the room was nice. Breakfast was lukewarm, even though we booked for 9.30. Dinner left a lot to be desired; I ended up eating the biscuits in the room because I was still hungry after a three‑course meal. The sea bass portion was tiny, and the ice‑cream dessert felt like a child’s share—just three scoops of cheap vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Service was good, but the food was subpar.

“Needs TLC”

The staff were very friendly and even went out of their way to leave a card for our celebration. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, with a decent breakfast selection. There was no lift, and the furniture in the room looked worn. We only had one easy chair in the two‑person room, and the paint on the bath panel was below standard.

“A convenient location for wandering around the town centre; a hotel with character.”

The location is excellent and the car park is convenient. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. The chips that came with the pie of the day were too thick and slightly undercooked—always a problem with this style of chips. When we went to our garden room, we had to pass the ashtray at the door, which sticks and needs fixing.
