The room with the pool view was larger and had a verandah, while the other room was too small, had a pathetic view of construction, no sunlight, and smelled bad during the rainy season—so we upgraded for a brighter room. The restaurant is good but mainly serves Indian food; there are no continental items and the Chinese dishes are average. The pool water had a strong chlorine smell; if you’re a regular swimmer in Kolkata’s good clubs, avoid it, otherwise it’s fine.
