The central spot and the food were great, and the staff were amazing, thoughtful, and caring, though clearly under pressure from the owner; the chef was truly excellent. There was a lot of dust everywhere, the onsen area smelled old and hadn’t been cleaned in ages, there was no separate shower outside the onsen, and the toilet and sinks were very old.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the spot was perfect for reaching onsens, temples, and even a monkey‑hiking trail; we had to leave early and they went the extra mile to assist us, ensuring we were satisfied. I don’t have a specific complaint, just a reminder that if you have special dietary needs, mention them to the staff upon arrival so they can prepare; the food was exceptional and they tried to accommodate us at dinner, but it’s best to remind them when you check in.
