The spot was nice, but the breakfast was awful—stale food and bad coffee. A constant beeping in the bathroom never stopped, and there was no chair in the bedroom. At night, the terrace outside was noisy. We never met the manager who spoke English.

I loved everything! The quaint medieval village of Gerace—named after my surname—offered gorgeous views and wonderful people.
