“It was adequate for 1 night.”

The spot was spot on, and the rooms were roomy. Unfortunately, there was no bathroom on our floor, just one towel, and the showers weren't clean. We didn't realize the bathrooms were shared with one upstairs and one downstairs, and none were on the main floor.

“Dorm style, old house in nice area but which needs a bit of TLC”

The location was great and the neighborhood was quiet. I didn't know we were renting a room with a bed and sharing a bathroom with several other guests, and we were on a basement level. The bed was comfortable and clean. There was one bathroom and three rooms in our part of the house, but people from upstairs used our bathroom. Also, every door squeaked, so I was woken up several times when someone left their room to use the bathroom.

The place was clean and in a good spot, close to downtown Vancouver's main attractions, and the neighborhood felt very safe. Restaurants and convenience stores were all within easy reach. We liked our room on the second floor, which had plenty of natural light and a lock, something I appreciated that some reviews mention missing. The bed was extremely stiff and hard, making it hard to sleep; a softer mattress or topper would help future guests. Only one bathroom was on our floor and another in the basement, which was moldy, making things tough given the number of guests.

“Very basic place to stay. Don’t expect too much”

I snagged a cheap rate, but the hotel shuffled me to a completely different property because they were overbooked elsewhere, without asking me first. They misled me about the reason for the move and sent conflicting messages, which would have been fine if they had just been straight up. The new place felt abandoned, almost no furniture, and my desk had no chair so I ended up working on the bed. The front and backyard could use a serious clean‑up.
