The owner was very friendly and helpful, even offering to drive us to the mine station since we didn’t have a car and relied on public transport. The guest house was very clean and well organised. I strongly recommend renting a car when spending time in the mine area. The breakfast was limited to waffles with marmalade and hot drinks; maybe it could be upgraded without much extra effort, for example with simple but good quality ingredient sandwiches or something similar.

The place was clean. A drunken owner who stays with guests and keeps partying until midnight shows a lack of professionalism; that’s not what I’d call homey.

The equipment and interior were freshly renovated and clean, and the location near Aikohōdō suited this trip well. The surrounding roads are narrow, so driving is tricky for those who are not comfortable or for large vehicles.

The staff welcomed us brightly and created a space where guests could chat easily at night. It was my first guest house and I was very nervous, but I ended up having a fun night and am glad I stayed.

It was my first guest house, but chatting with the owner and another family who ate with us that same day was the most enjoyable part; they shared many recommended spots for sightseeing in Yamaguchi. The room was clean, comfortable, and the owner kindly told us about hot springs and good restaurants even before we arrived. It turned into a very enjoyable memory.
