The owner contacted me via booking with questions, but I had no internet (on roaming in England) and couldn’t reply in time. He refused to let me stay and it was too late to get a refund. Seeing his later messages, as a single woman, I’m glad I didn’t stay there!

“Fantastic place and great concept”

Once you grasp the concept, it’s a fantastic place to stay. It felt a bit uncomfortable at first to follow the concept, but soon enough I felt right at home.

I’m rating this place 3 out of 10, but honestly it feels even less valuable. It’s not a holiday spot; it feels more like a strict military bootcamp. If you’re looking to unwind, steer clear. The facilities are lacking—no hot water, so I had to take cold showers. The worst part is the intense monitoring and ridiculous cleaning rules: you’re required to wipe down the shower and sink and completely dry them with a tiny cloth after every use. I followed the rules and cleaned up, yet my efforts were never deemed “good enough.” I was constantly watched, while other guests who left water everywhere were ignored. I ended up booking another place and left early just to find some peace. Overall, the standards here are low, both in cleanliness and host behavior. If the owner defends the rules, that’s fine, but the vibe feels more like a homeless shelter—something you wouldn’t normally pay for, especially when they at least provide hot water elsewhere. Spend your money where you’re treated like a welcome guest.
