The breakfast was delicious, getting in and out was easy, and having a separate shower room from the bathtub was great. I can’t think of anything that was bad, though I’d note that the number of toilets felt low for the number of guests, so it might get a line when it’s busy—just a thought.

The stay in Matsudai was great, with rooms and shared facilities that were convenient and clean, and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend the dinner and breakfast made with local ingredients; it was very wholesome. Nothing to complain about.

I was blown away by the building manager's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. With the crazy snow conditions, he came to pick me up when taxis weren't running, and even drove me back down to drop off my bag the next morning so I didn't have to lug it through the snow. He then lent me snow boots to hike to the station, which was a huge help. It's clear that he's dedicated to making guests feel welcome and supported.

We were really impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations. We had the dormitory to ourselves, which was a bonus, but even if we hadn't, the room was organized in a way that made it easy to maintain some privacy. It's clear that the owners have thought carefully about how to create a welcoming space for guests.

The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a big difference to my stay. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a problem with moldy smells in the hotel, which was a real turn-off.
