Lake Arenal Hotel, Brewery & Farm

The views and the exquisite breakfast were great, but it needs a lot of maintenance.

The place was very quiet and comfortable, but the food was not that good; only the breakfast was delicious.

“Minable.”

The location was good, the view was beautiful. The reception was not charming. There was no TV, no cable box, no mini‑fridge, and no comfortable chair (just two wooden chairs). Internet was unstable. The door handle was full of green‑ish rust inside. There was a mold smell. The bathroom ceiling was stained, the mirror was stained, the cushion was stained. Insects and dirt were in the room. Breakfast did not match the reviews. The hotel was abandoned. I sent a message to Booking for a refund and booked elsewhere; I never received a reply, which explains why. I don’t understand how Booking can send us to places like this without offering a refund. Once the money is in the pocket, they don’t care about customers.

“A wonderful hotel with friendly and relaxed staff - incredible views of Lake Arenal!”

We loved it! We spotted howler monkeys, a sloth, and a toucan in the tree above our car in the parking lot, plus baby toucans near the pool. There’s also a great nature walk and fantastic views of Lake Arenal. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the included beer tasting. This was a perfect stop on our Costa Rican road trip; we were sad we didn’t stay another night.

“You have to stay here”

The place is incredible. It offers beautiful views, the pools are great, and the attention from Saleska was exceptional!
