The house sits on a quiet side street off Brick Lane, a historic immigrant and working‑class area in East London – you’ll feel safe if you’re considering staying here. We never felt threatened or unsafe, but it seemed there weren’t many other hotels or lodging options nearby. Brick Lane/Banglatown is full of mostly Middle‑Eastern restaurants, kiosks, food halls, vintage shops, etc. People are on the street late into the night. We preferred walking from Liverpool Street Station because it has more train lines and the roads to the house are wider than Aldgate East, which is an old and somewhat worn train station. Spitalfields Market really has a lot of food, clothing and art and is worth a visit. You’ll receive a door code for the house and room and otherwise it’s unmanned. The rooms are in an older, somewhat worn building, with two rooms on each floor sharing a small bathroom in the hallway. The stairs are fairly steep. The house is quiet and we didn’t experience any loud noises, although our room faced the back yard and there were a lot of air‑conditioners and exhausts from the restaurants that were noisy until 23:00. It was nice that we could make tea in the room, but it would have been nice to have a few plates or some cutlery and a small fridge. The room we had had its own newer shower cabin and a small sink. The bed was nice and the mattress great, but only 140 cm wide. The door didn’t open well because it was stuck on the floor rug. The floor rug in the room was very dirty and one bedside lamp was broken (the lamp shade was damaged and the bulb popped). The TV sound came and went, but we could still watch Netflix. A new washbasin cabinet had been installed with a very small sink. It was so small that it was hard to fit a glass under it. We missed (several) towel hooks.

The room was pleasant, felt safe and secure, and the location was convenient. The kitchen facilities were lacking, and I was initially given the wrong code for my room.

The location and bed were good, but the place was pretty dirty.

I just needed a receipt. I asked for it three times and got no reply. I called and they hung up on me. I definitely will never book this place again!
