The place feels like 30‑year‑old China—very old‑fashioned. It’s far from the city, and the bars and restaurants nearby are far better than those inside the hotel.

The location was fantastic—great view right in the bay, and it was convenient that the ferry to Miyajima stopped at the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and nice. The downside was that you had to pay extra for the pool and fitness, which I was looking forward to using; the price is also absurdly high for a family of four with an average Belgian income.

The view over Hiroshima Bay is beautiful. A few excellent (but pricey) on‑site restaurants exist, and the staff are wonderful and very helpful. The high‑speed boat takes you straight to Miyajima or via a connection to Kure. A public bus runs every half an hour into downtown Hiroshima, or you can walk about 20 minutes to Hiroshima pier and catch a streetcar. It’s a perfect spot if you’re in Hiroshima for a day to visit the islands. (If you’re more city‑centric, it’s less convenient for multiple days.) The property is starting to show some wear, and the pool area closed on September 24. We stayed the first week of October; the weather was lovely and warm, so it would have been nice to use that area. The food at the restaurants is fantastic but expensive, so you must decide whether to eat at the hotel or take the bus into town (about half an hour).

The views were truly impressive, the location was awesome, and the staff were fantastic. Everything else was great.

The convenience store and free shuttle to Hiroshima train station were handy, though the bus stopped early. Dining options were pricey, and the hotel sits a half‑hour from the main center, giving it a secluded vibe.
