“Not worth the cost.”
1) The bed was comfortable. 2) There was a good shower and plentiful hot water. 3) The Jacuzzi, although not clean and poorly designed, was a nice idea. 4) The view was magnificent and staff lovely. 5) The games room and common spaces were lovely, well appointed and very comfortable. 1) Not supplying even 1 bottle of water and charging 9 soles per bottle (when staff are available. ie. Water cannot be obtained at night) was a disgrace. We have never stayed anywhere where there is no access to clean, drinking water or even a cup a tea. 2) our room looked clean at first, but then we realised the trash bin in the bathroom was full of someone elses soiled toilet paper. Reception staff were finished so we had to endure that smell all night. There was also toothpaste splatters around the back of the sink. 3) Breakfast was very limited. 4) There was a visible coffee machine, with milk-frothing wand. but did not work. 5) without transfers it was difficult for tourists without their own car. Even the road out would be difficult to navigate. Getting to Caral was difficult, costly and a lot of trouble. 6) Our stay started with a lengthy message about exorbitant corkage fees ($2usd per beer bottle and 60 soles for wine) if you bring your own. This message set the tone of the stay: that Empedrada was not interested in their guest's comfort or enjoyment, only to make as much money from them as possible. This could have been delivered in a more subtle way. 7) The food in the restuarant was "hit and miss"
