“Delightful staff”

The staff were very welcoming and upbeat, clearly wanting to make sure we had a good time. The gardens are beautifully maintained and relaxing, with various places to sit or recline. The pool is a good size, clean, and has plenty of exceptionally dreamy lounge beds, plus plenty of shaded areas. I especially liked the outdoor bar, a lovely spot for sundowners. The restaurant under the olive trees, with its delicate lighting, is delightful. We pointed out that later in the season, when it rains, the soft seating area outside the room gets wet and unusable; ideally glass or clear Perspex could be placed over the cane shading to keep the cushioning dry. They did, however, bring a replacement cushion when asked. The breakfasts are terrific and plentiful. The restaurant offers a varied menu, very nicely presented, although a bit pricey; we might have eaten there more often if a few dishes were cheaper.

“Beautiful hotel, excellent service”

The hotel was beautiful, tastefully designed, and the staff were friendly and cheerful, excelling at arranging restaurant reservations and offering recommendations for our stay. However, as the lovely guest experiences manager warned, service around the pool was slow and uneven; when a waiter finally arrived they were friendly, and orders were delivered quickly after being placed. A few mistakes slipped through, likely due to the high volume of orders at once. The only other drawback was a subtle but noticeable drain smell in the room, possibly linked to the open bathroom design or the rural location’s tricky sewage system, which I understand.
