The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space in the lodge. The view overlooking the duck pond was lovely and tranquil, and the extra bathroom was very useful for five ladies. I had asked in advance if hot‑tub towels were provided and was told they were, but we learned there was only one towel per person for both the hot tub and bathing. This should be clarified in the booking details. The outdoor furniture was dirty and the cushions wet, so we had to clean and dry them. The chemicals in the hot tub were overpowering, causing our eyes to water and limiting use. The kitchen was not well stocked – no plastic glasses for the hot tub, no champagne flutes, and wine glasses of different sizes. We wanted to use the sauna, read the sign, went to reception to book/sign in, but reception was closed. I contacted Host & Stay, who reached out to the owners, but there were no instructions on how to use the sauna, so we didn’t use it.
