“Lovely stay”
The stay was lovely. Richard, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our charming room. He offered homemade cakes with tea and coffee facilities and lovely china cups and saucers. The rooms had a cottage‑like feel. The place is quirky – the breakfast room displays birdcages, and there’s a games room with a pool table, darts board, and a wall of hats. Breakfast was gorgeous: plenty of food, puréed apples from their tree with yogurt, homemade jams and marmalade, eggs from their hens, and a delicious full English. We were there for the weekend while doing the Three Peaks Challenge, and Richard and his wife Trish were great, chatting about the Yorkshire Dales and suggesting places to visit. Richard even booked us into a pub for our meals, and the food was so good we returned the next night. The homely feel of the place was wonderful, and I will definitely return.
