“une hôtel extraordinaire et une situation exceptionnelle”

The hotel is a charming, human‑sized place with an exceptional location, quiet yet close to everything – sites, the train station, the metro. There are plenty of little touches in the lobby and rooms. The bedding is outstanding; I love it so much I could write endlessly. The only downside is the room’s view, which isn’t remarkable, but that’s just a note because in this neighborhood the low buildings make it hard to get a great view, and a few dozen meters out you’re already in a wonderful area.

“Fabulous”

Soda was incredibly hospitable, her enthusiasm infectious, and she had an answer for every question, was very well informed about the city and what was ‘on’, sent us little notes with extra information, and booked a taxi that arrived in a flash when the Uber drivers had let us down; the rooms were very comfortable; there were lots of goodies, including croissants and pain au chocolate, pretty hair tyes, mouthwashes, etc.; the location was tucked back from the main Gion street, which made it accessible to restaurants and very quiet.

“Amazing, warm, perfect”

The bread and toaster were a nice touch, and the salt bread was honestly delicious; Soda at the front desk was amazing, offering spot‑on itinerary advice.

Friendly staff made the stay amazing, especially Soda who was extremely helpful and lovely; the hotel is in a very convenient location, with many great eating options close by.
