The Hôtel & Spa Vitalparc, The Originals Collection, Lacanau Océan, is nestled in a forest near Medoc, 3 km from the ocean and Moutchic. It features a fitness room, heated outdoor pool (May-September), and spa with treatments (Monday-Saturday). Rooms have balconies, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms. Local cuisine, a bar, and relaxation area with sauna and ice grotto are also offered, near horse riding, tennis, and Bordeaux Airport (53 km).

The lunch (dish of the day) was excellent, the hammam and spa overall were very clean, and the reception was very friendly and attentive. The only drawback was that the ventilation in the bathroom was very noisy and disturbed us during the night.

We were upgraded, which was very pleasant. The bedding was very comfortable, cleanliness impeccable, and the reception professional. The pool was pretty. However, there was no complimentary water bottle in the rooms, the breakfast was in a generic room that didn’t match a 4‑star standard (though the coffee and pastries were very good). There was a special men’s swimsuit for the spa, so my husband couldn’t use it. The décor could use a rethink. Overall, it was quite different from a typical 4‑star hotel in Asia.
