The hotel is perfect for hiking, and the rooms are simple yet clean. The staff are very friendly and give a surprisingly family‑like vibe despite the size. The only downside for us was that the beds were too soft and the pillows were too big.

We stayed for two nights to run the Harz Mountain Race, and the place was totally fine. It’s great that you can bring your four‑legged friend, and our room had little details that showed that. It was very clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly. One of our two rooms was very cold and never really warmed up; the shower water could have been hotter. By the second morning it was noticeably better. Breakfast started at 8.00 am, and we would have liked it earlier because we had another hike the next day and wanted to head out sooner. Maybe on days when events like the Harz Mountain Race happen, the breakfast should start earlier.

Sehr sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer sauber, die Einrichtung schon älter aber trotzdem ausreichend. Tolle Lage am Waldrand. Die vorbeilaufende Ilse stets im Ohr, toll. Wer Natur liebt ist hier genau richtig. Zu Fuß vom Stadtkern gute 3 km
