The inn was genuinely intriguing, steeped in history, and the rooms were incredibly comfortable while the staff were top‑class. The restaurant’s food was outstanding and surprisingly good value, and beyond the lodging there was a charming museum, a farm shop, and a gift shop. The only downside was that, although the food was very reasonable, the drinks felt a bit pricey.

We booked the Daphne du Maurier Suite and it lived up to the hype: the room was stunning, the bed enormous and plush with gorgeous linens. Dinner and breakfast were delightful, and the restaurant/bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The museum was also a highlight, packed with fascinating exhibits and detailed information.

The rooms were absolutely stunning, and the dogs received a welcome pack complete with treats, a toy, and a bed. The staff were amazing, and the food was delicious. Nothing else to add.

The location was fantastic, and the interior décor featured plenty of images of the pub and its surroundings. Halloween decorations were in place, giving it a nice, spooky vibe. Both shops were well stocked and nicely arranged, and the whole place exuded a wonderful old‑world charm. I’d definitely return. The staff were lovely and engaging in conversation. Everything was lovely.
