The location is very central and easily reachable, and a small free parking spot is just a few meters away. What we absolutely disliked were the beds: metal frames that squeaked loudly whenever we turned. The kettle couldn’t be filled over the sink because it didn’t fit. The breakfast room was filthy, the tables sticky, and the coffee cups dirty.

We stayed a second time as part of the West Highland Way. The place is cheap and has a cozy pub that serves great food. The room was so small that we couldn’t even open a small suitcase on the floor; we had to keep lifting it onto the bed. There were few options for storing clothes, and those were not very practical. Last year we booked a slightly larger room with a real wardrobe and a chair, and with a bit more effort we could open the suitcases on the floor. That year breakfast and dinner were included at a lower price. The cost for just the room now is completely overcharged and feels like a rip-off. Never again.

“Drymen Inn has a great location but I think it charges too much for a room above a pub.”

The bed was comfortable, the location good, and breakfast was okay. The furniture looked a bit shabby—see photos. I didn’t like having to negotiate past the drunks to reach my room. The room wasn’t made up, a bag of laundry on the landing was a tripping hazard, and the coffee at breakfast was cold.
