Staying in the monastery’s guest wing felt like a unique experience; guests are invited to join the monks for lunch and dinner in the refectory, where meals are taken in silence following strict rituals, including prayers before and after eating. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are functional, clean, and well-appointed. Breakfast arrives at 8:15, this time without the monks present. The monastery grounds are vast, and the surrounding area is great for hiking or motorcycling.

The positives were that breakfast was good! When you are open to the religious aspects it was very valuable! Our pater was a very correct man who knew how to deal with all kinds of guests! The negatives were none.

The positives were that you sleep in a monastery, a place of calm, simple rooms, but thanks to the good catering you can just take your time and not worry about anything. At 8.15 a.m. there was a rich breakfast. At 12.00 p.m. lunch and in the evening another bread snack. It felt good to just not have to worry about anything.

“Zur teuer”

The lakefront spot right next to the abbey was nice, and breakfast was just okay, but the price was way too high – 179 euros for one night!
