The rooms were really clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. However, I was a bit surprised by how far away the hotel was from Esmeraldas city - it's a bit of a trek, especially if you don't have a car. In an emergency, it could be a real challenge to get into town quickly. Overall, it's a trade-off between the nice hotel and the inconvenient location.
