I think this hostel ranks among the best I've seen—spotlessly clean, snug, and peaceful. The staff were truly wonderful, friendly and always ready to help, which made the stay even better.

I couldn't believe how hard it was to leave Ranasa after four nights; it felt like saying goodbye to a summer at my grandma's. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was generous and tasty. The whole property, including the living room and shower area, stayed clean. The bed was comfortable, though the bungalow did have the usual city‑to‑wild mosquito problem, which I guess is a reminder to enjoy nature more. The location was perfect—quiet yet just a short walk to Tirtodipuran street, the chic part of town. Within that one‑kilometre radius I found a bookshop, a wide range of food options, gelato shops, art shops, specialty coffee shops, a mart, and a hidden bar. Getting to Malioboro was still convenient (4 km or about 12 minutes by motorbike). I spoke with a staff member who mentioned that this place might not be the cheapest in town, but I’m happy with the extra cost because the quality difference is huge. I also noticed that guests here were respectful to one another, which made me feel safe. I have no major complaints; if anything comes up later it will just be nitpicking. Nothing significant bothered me during my stay.

The courtyard was beautiful, full of tropical vibes, and even had a small pool. The owner was very enthusiastic and would greet us every time we left, asking if we had fun, which was a nice touch. The only downside was that there was no washing machine.
