We got in very late and a kind lady woke up to let us in, was lovely, and even cooked breakfast for us the next morning; the room was roomy and comfortable for the price, though the shared bathroom next door had lukewarm water even after turning the heater on.

The property feels very private, attractive, and well maintained, and they cooked a fresh breakfast exactly when we asked for it. Mona welcomed us warmly even though we arrived very late, and the only downside was that the shower water was cold.

The place is clean and tidy, very safe with high metal gates around the courtyard that always lock, and the staff is always there if you need anything. Everything matches the pictures, the breakfast is nice, and the dining area is lovely. The city center is a bit farther; from the asphalt you have to walk another 100 meters on a bad road to reach the accommodation, so you need to carry your luggage on your arms if you walk, which is common in Zanzibar. That bad road makes it unwise to walk further after the accommodation because the locals warned us that the neighborhood is dangerous and risky to walk there during the day and at night, waiting in front of the gate. Just get onto the main road, and avoid the bad path through the village.
