This hotel is perfect for a one‑night stay: great location, breakfast included, and the owner is welcoming and always available. We arrived at the end of October, and the heating was on, making the room quite warm. However, there was a lack of basic sound insulation; we could hear the front door opening and closing and neighbors chatting, giving the impression of a shared space. Basic bathroom fixtures were missing too—no towel hooks, no bedside tables to set items on, and the hair dryer broke after just 10 seconds of use.

The room was tidy, warm, and supremely comfortable; the fire in the lounge added a lovely touch. The only improvement I’d suggest is adding a few area rugs around the bed.

The lake view from the common room, the prime spot in the center of Barrea, and the cozy fireplace were all fantastic. The breakfast could have offered more sweet options, and there was essentially nothing salty.

“Ostello albergo Barrea.”

The room was welcoming and spotless. Breakfast was plentiful in a gorgeous venue overlooking the lake. The only minor issue might be the parking: the car lot isn’t right next to the hostel because it’s in a ZTL zone. Still, strolling through Barrea’s alleys and streets is enjoyable, so that’s not a major drawback.
