The location and staff friendliness were great, and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Inside the room, however, some maintenance is needed: a corner of the cupboard has been bumped or damaged multiple times, leaving no paint on that corner, which is quite noticeable and detracts from the room’s overall appearance. When entering, the finish around the light switch looks untidy and incomplete. The bathroom also needs attention, especially the finish around the toilet and bathtub, which does not look neat or properly finished. Overall, some attention to maintenance and finishing details would significantly improve the room’s appearance and quality.

The view is lovely. This place is not a hotel, and marketing it as one is grossly misleading. It’s better described as very low‑end holiday accommodation, unsuitable for business travel because there’s no desk or workspace in the room and the Wi‑Fi is EXTREMELY slow. The room’s seating consists of two plastic garden chairs, there are no carpets or rugs—only tiled floors. There’s no telephone in the room, and the only way to reach reception is by calling from your cellphone. The TV and bedside lamp both didn’t work and had to be replaced on request; the technician couldn’t tune the new TV, so DSTV was unavailable and streaming was impossible due to the snail‑speed Wi‑Fi. Furniture and fittings are very old and poorly maintained. The bathroom feels grimy despite daily cleaning. Standard hotel amenities such as a hair dryer and iron are missing. The ocean view is fantastic, but the sliding door glass is so dirty that it completely obscures the view. What a pity! The friendly staff are let down by the run‑down state of the facilities and equipment. When checking out, the receptionist didn’t even have a pen to jot down details for my email invoice/receipt. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

All praise to God for letting us celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary at Chapman Hotel. When Mr S took us to our room, guess what the room number was? 17. Thanks to the staff for their hospitality; you were all welcoming and friendly. I would recommend Chapman Hotel even if you’re in PE, just to get a break from everyday life. Let’s support and appreciate our beautiful city. Chapman Hotel, thank you for an amazing stay; we’ll definitely see you again. Mr S, you’re a joy—your smile brings warmth.
