The safari tent was cozy, the surroundings were lovely, and the owner was friendly.

The lodge was perfect: roomy yet snug, private, spotless, and stocked with everything (including a dishwasher and plenty of hot water). It’s a short walk to town (I’d highly recommend De Waldhoorn, especially for vegetarian options) and a five‑minute drive to The Hoge Veluwe National Park. A pleasant surprise was that our lodge sat next to some horses, giving gentle background sounds (nothing intrusive) and no bad odors. The only drawback was that the bedding felt a little itchy for us, probably a personal sensitivity; otherwise the bed itself was very comfortable, which is why I didn’t give the comfort score a full ten.
