I loved the location, the garden and trees were awesome. The room was warm and peaceful with a great bed and a large bathroom – an A rating for me. I only booked one night, but I’ll definitely come back.

“Very luxurious country home, tucked away off the main street near the castle.”

The breakfast in the restaurant was great, and everything else was perfect—no complaints at all. The property feels like a cool country home tucked behind a wall off the main road, in excellent condition and with the vibe of a stately home. I’ll definitely return.

“Great location and comfortable beds but overall underwhelming”

Boyne House sits in a beautiful spot with well-kept, idyllic grounds. The beds were comfortable, and the room was lovely and warm even though it was 2 °C outside. It was spacious, full of upcycled furniture that we adored. We arrived just after 9 pm and saw a note on reception telling us to lift the phone to call for night staff, but the phone was vibrating under the desk, so that was pointless. A staff member in the dining room was lovely and checked us in. The duvet covers had more cover than duvet, so when untucked they hung limp and felt like only half a duvet. There was a hair on the flannel in the bathroom, only one sachet of coffee (the other two were decaf), and the upholstery and walls were scuffed and stained. These details would normally bother me, but I’ve stayed in B&Bs for almost half the price of this stay that have been maintained to a higher standard. A piece of tissue was used as a stopper for the water bottle. When we checked out near midday—because I had let my daughter sleep while I worked—I was told by the receptionist that it wasn’t morning anymore, which felt like a dig since we hadn’t checked out earlier; it left me a little upset. The TV was very basic. Aside from feeling judged/lazy, none of these issues bothered me as we slept fine and wouldn’t have used the flannels, but since we regularly pay €90–€125 for stays that are far superior in cleanliness and attention to detail, the pricing felt a bit steep.

“Lovely staff.nice restaurant”

We booked Boyne House, but after we checked in the staff discovered that most of the house had been booked by a wedding party, so they moved us to the main hotel, which was quieter.

“Prachtige kamer in mooie mansion”

The room was pretty, the bed was wide, and the bathroom was amazing, yet the coffee was instant.
