The room was roomy and high‑quality, and the building had plenty of interesting features; the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very helpful. Parking is tough and scarce nearby, but the owners try their best.

The location was good, the downstairs restaurant’s meal was excellent, and nearby amenities were convenient. The blinds in the room didn’t work, so I had to close them manually. There’s no power outlet in the sink, and I had to buy bottled water to make coffee because none was provided. The hearth was too large and I stubbed my toe on it a few times. An optional cooked breakfast would have been nice.

I really wanted a proper English breakfast, but it was continental; there was plenty of self‑service so it was acceptable. The staff didn’t interact much, so the service felt poor. The location was perfect for what we needed. The carpets on the staircase and landing were very dirty, and the doors in our room had odd decorations—looks like the room was refurbished but the doors were overlooked. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, bulbs were missing, and the huge chandelier didn’t light at all. We stayed in the Huntingdon room; the bed was very comfortable, but in October I could have used a thicker duvet.

The room was beautiful, tasteful, and the bed was large; the location was fantastic.

The venue had a modern feel and restaurant served good food. Room was nice and clean with fan and lots of coffee and tea. Bit confused over parking. said free parking behind which I followed. After going in the gates closed behind me it was a housing car park. The carpark is to the left of this big car park. I had to phone a resident to let me out as my car was locked in. After explaining he let me out. I managed to park down the road. I questioned it via email with another problem and was told that room does not include parking. When I booked my room it didn't state which room I had so didn't know didn't have parking. Other problem was fan didn't work but they replaced it. As it's a restaurant down stairs was noisy till about 10.30pm about to fall asleep then about. 1120pm loud bangs like the door kept being heard. Like someone was trying to close it but wouldn't shut. I questioned if was staff but was told it wasn't
