The room is large with a very good shower and towels. The room was a bit 'tired' – lamps askew and wobbly, radiator not functioning, door difficult to lock.

The food here is absolutely first class. The bedrooms are a little tired but that shouldn’t detract from a wonderful stay. The spa could do with some more loungers as it got a bit fractious when it was full and people had nowhere to sit

The view was amazing, the lake was beautiful, and the drive around it was pleasant with good stops. Front‑desk staff were helpful and friendly. The drive to the hotel is a single‑lane road, which is typical for Wales. The place is magnificent but a bit past its prime and showing its age. My wife expected better soap and hair products for a spa, but there was only one product that did everything. The biggest complaint was that the pub was unimpressive for a country that knows its pubs, and a crew was loud and crude every night, making people leave early. It seemed like a work crew was doing something at the hotel, not sure. Aside from the lake, there’s not much else nearby to do.
