Chirripó Oasis

The property was stunning; we barely wanted to leave, spending all day watching birds and wildlife in the beautiful gardens. It’s close to local restaurants and supermarkets yet secluded enough to feel a million miles away. The owner was kind and helpful, ferrying us up the hill when our rental car couldn’t, and even drove us to the Cerro Chirripo trailhead where their family offered pointers about the mountain. If you’re planning a trip to Chirripo, this is the place to stay. The driveway requires a 4‑wheel drive vehicle, preferably with a low‑range gearbox; this is noted, but our all‑wheel‑drive Rav4 couldn’t quite make it.

“Perfect”

The communication and overall experience were outstanding. The gentleman on site was incredibly kind and helpful, and the birdwatching here is hard to beat. I strongly recommend this place.

“Great place to be to watch birds gardens and find out about coffee plants and sugar cane process”

The balcony gave a killer view of the valley, and the hostess was a great companion for bird‑watching and strolling around the property. A short walk brought us to a lovely waterfall and an old sugar‑cane press with a boiling station. Wish we’d had a bit more time to soak it all in next visit.

The place itself is stunning, with a breathtaking mountain view that makes showering feel like a spa. The sheets are super soft, and the hosts are incredibly kind—helping us get around without a 4x4 and showing us the whole area, even the waterfalls at the top. Whenever we had a question, they were there, eager to make our trip perfect. We left with a little bittersweet feeling.

“Lives up to its name and promiss”

This place feels like a quiet retreat right at the base of Chirripo. Birds were everywhere, and Tricia and her crew were super friendly. When the local café was closed, Tricia invited us to breakfast with her family, making us feel right at home. We left feeling privileged to have spent a day in that valley.
