“Top place in Lalibela”
I gave it a 10/10. The host and his family were very nice and friendly, making me feel more like staying with friends than in a hotel. The balcony view was spectacular—I kept staring at it. The room was simple but had everything I needed and was super clean, which I really appreciated. I ordered dinner, and the homemade food was tasty along with the Ethiopian coffee. I’d recommend booking a tour with the host to the churches and the early‑morning prayer ceremony; it’s worth it. The ticket price is the same everywhere, but you feel safer and more relaxed with a local guide. Otherwise, many local hunters offer to guide you. The early‑morning ceremony was special—after visiting almost 150 countries, I’ve never had such an experience. If you’re unsure where to stay in Lalibela, book this guesthouse. The host stayed in touch to support you and helped me arrange an airport transfer, which was inexpensive and easy. I highly recommend visiting Lalibela—it's a top travel destination, and even in low season the weather was good and not too touristy. The only downside was that there was no electricity at times, but I still enjoyed the view from the room. Sometimes a digital detox is good :)
