Hotel Breiddalsvik

The coastal town is a gem with stunning vistas, and the hotel’s design feels fresh, modern, and built from natural materials. The restaurant serves exceptional food—especially the cod and lamb—and I even made a new friend who sang a birthday song for my daughter. The gentleman at reception that evening, and the next day, patiently mapped out our adventure. A cozy lounge with a fireplace and comfortable seating houses a full kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, etc., letting us cook our own meals and cut costs. I think the restaurant closes in winter, so check ahead if that matters, but the kitchen itself was nice and inviting. I strongly recommend this place for its staff, facilities, comfort, and food; we felt truly welcomed.

“Wonderful Stay in East Iceland. Look forward repeat it.”

The hotel was wonderful, with a comfortable room and a cozy, freshly remodeled setting. The staff were very, very friendly, and the restaurant was fantastic. It would be great to see more options added to the menu.

“A disappointing return visit compared with our wonderful stay seven years ago.”

We stayed here seven years ago and absolutely loved it, so we returned with high hopes. Back then, we were upgraded to a beautiful, very comfortable, and extremely quiet room, and the fewer guests made the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing. That memory set our expectations high, but this time they weren’t met. Our room was close to the entrance and reception, a normal size but with a window facing the car park. In the evening, noise from a neighboring room’s loud TV lingered, and we also heard sounds from the reception area. Overall, the room was far less quiet and relaxing than our previous experience.

“Would highly recommend Hotel Breiddalsvik.”

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Breiddalsvik! The entire hotel felt cozy, warm, and very comfortable. The lounge was great, and we ate our dinner in the eating area. We kept our small cooler in the refrigerator overnight, keeping everything cold. Breakfast was delicious, especially the porridge and bread. A special shout‑out to Sofia at the front desk—she’s personable, helpful, speaks five languages, and even did us a breakfast favor!
