The place is well‑situated, with a decent bar and restaurant downstairs and a room of a good size. Unfortunately, the bed was very uncomfortable, the linens were low quality, and the rooms were overly bright because of street‑light glare, giving it a dated feel.

The place sits nicely close to Inverness, right next to a pub‑restaurant combo, which worked great for what we had in mind. The decor feels a bit dated and the old Scottish style was evident, but we knew that beforehand and it was fine.

The room was clean, comfortable, and came with soap. The welcome was underwhelming. We had booked dinner for Saturday night, but on arrival we were told there were no restaurant facilities. The staff suggested we try another hotel over the road and check for availability, but they made no effort to help.

The staff were very friendly and the bathroom had just been renovated. The room was far away from the building and there was no lift, so moving luggage was a nightmare. It was dusty, smelled damp, and we saw more than three huge spiders—understandable since we’re in the “field,” but not ideal for sleeping. With the pub below, we heard several fights.

The hotel is in a great spot right in the town centre. The room was spacious and cozy, even offering a blanket for our dog, and after a while we were attended by a very pleasant owner. We didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. Parking right outside the front door was super convenient, and the owner offered to carry our luggage to the room. The bathroom had a real bath, which we used to warm up after a good soak while walking the hills. Staffing was a bit thin, some soft furnishings were worn, and the website might better reflect the limited menus on offer.
