“Nice old inn but overpriced.”
The inn was beautiful, old, and well‑maintained in the center of Dorset. The staff were welcoming and gave us a tour of the building. We could walk from there to the Dorset Playhouse, which was the main reason we came. The on‑site restaurant was good but pricey. I left my phone and watch charger in the room, and it was promptly returned to me. We rarely stay at hotels over $300 a night, but we decided to splurge, so we expected perfection and it fell short. If breakfast is included, tip the wait staff appropriately—especially when the listed price is high, so a 20% tip is a substantial amount. The TV signal in our room cut out every 5–10 minutes, making it hard to relax.
